Three Wheeled Buggies
Whether you're seeking a buggy to run with or just a stroller that can be used for the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.
If you're looking for an easy ride in your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. However, they are prone to punctures, so be prepared with a repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
Recent figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled vehicle which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sanity - is in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking stylish.
The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to deal with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front, make it easier to move and more stable when walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with the newborn baby and a 3-year-old child and found it very sturdy. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt sturdy to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. The tyres, which are inflatable and require to be pumped up occasionally they have suspension built-in. It was extremely comfortable for my children.
Another thing to take into consideration is the size and shape. You will want it to be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort. You will also want it to be able to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies will have an option to lie flat completely while others allow the parent to be facing one.
A great choice for tackling off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. The buggy can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4, and comes with a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a big padded seat. The storage options are great too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets on the hood, and an attractive pouch at the back of the seat unit.
Wheels with a larger diameter
Larger wheels means that your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - ideal for buggies designed for off-road use. They also allow you to move the pushchair around tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature swivel front wheels to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, whereas others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with the speed at which they can be pushed. This is also helpful in the event that you hit the roots of a tree or stray curb, since the front wheel can be lifted up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchair s have air-filled tyres, which means they can be used on many different terrains and are far more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are prone to punctures, so you'll need to have repair kits and an spare inner tube on hand.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also have a suspension that Kath says "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
The downside of having larger wheels is that they make some buggies quite broad and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This is an issue when you're using it for an exercise bike or to be able to get through doors that are narrow when out and about. Fortunately, the majority of models come with compact folding options that let you remove the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to maneuver
One of the primary benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it's much more maneuverable, especially with a child in the back. The way in which they are constructed means that the front wheels rotate on a dime and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre which makes them perfect for difficult terrains such as parks, cobbles, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her toddler and newborn and stated: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed by how well it coped with the kerbs, particularly when using the brake operated by hand. I found it extremely stable when driving downhill or over uneven ground."
The only drawback of this amazing mobility is that the 3 wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces, something to consider if you live in a city area. If this is a problem then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars can shield your child from scrapes and bumps when they are out and about. They are easy to install, and will allow your child to feel safe and secure out and out and about.
Designed to complement the sleek lines of the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and padded surface that provides an ideal place for your child to hold on to while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design will ensure that your child can enjoy a stroll without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far in the direction of.
The sling is stowed inside the frame and not on top of the modular seat. This puts the center of gravity for your newborn at the ideal height, and also offers great weight distribution, making it easier to pop over curbs (it is much easier to push the stroller up and over than you may think). MFM reviewer Kath found it to be able to deal well with grass and cobbles and is a great option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.
With a stylish and sophisticated design, this bumper bar is sure to draw attention wherever you go. Available in a variety of finishes and colours, it can be customized to suit your personal style. It features a simple, quick-release mechanism that makes it easy to install and remove the bumper bar whenever needed. Additionally, the bumper bar is easy to clean and is made from durable materials that are simple to clean. This makes it a great option for families that want a safe and stylish accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy provides the most maneuverability and performance when you go off-road. This type of buggy is simple to steer and turns at a moment's notice due to its perfect geometry engineering, as well as weight distribution.
The Sport's clever design places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, rather than over it like modular seats. This means it has a lower center of gravity which means it's easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you don't have to put in the same effort to raise the buggy's hood over a curb) and also provides more stability and balance. With its massive rear wheels measuring 16 inches, lockable swivel front wheel and air filled tyres that require only occasional pumping for a bump free ride over rough terrain and a smoother, more comfortable jog.

The only stroller that is all-terrain in our range that comes with a parent-facing seat which can also accommodate a car seat or carrycot, you can make sure your family is prepared for every adventure - from the very first day and for many years to be!
Kath, our MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of the buggy. There's a easily accessible, large basket that is surprisingly spacious for a buggy of this size. There's also a handy pouch on the back seat unit, and 2 smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood, where you can keep your phone and keys.
